Mr Mattress Sponsoring Hexham Racecourse Jockey James Corbett
Here's a little introduction to our very own Jamie Corbett : -
James ( Jamie ) Corbett was born and bred in Otterburn,
Northumberland. His parents Frank and Susan own a sheep farm and also breed
thoroughbred horses so James was brought up with horses but only became more interested in them when he was 12.
He went on to leave school at 16 signing up for the NVQ 2 Course at The British Racing School in
Newmarket. Following a 9 week course James went on different placements to
trainers yards including George Charlton at Stocksfield and Michael Smith at Kirkheaton.
James then met Jordan and they got married and worked in Wiltshire
for another trainer for a year before coming home to the North East and
becoming a conditional Jockey for his mother, that is like an Apprentice. James
and Jordan have one son, Harley with another on the way.
James has been going from strength to strength on the racing front having recently won several races. We're right behind him here at Mr Mattress!
